The world of The Butterfly Ship continues growing and evolving with each passing week! Most recently our performers were represented at the Oregon Country Fair, exchanging ideas and broadening their horizons as they spread the good word about the upcoming voyages of The Butterfly Ship. More from them when they get a chance to relax and reorient.
In more practical news, musical practices proceed apace, with a jam session/songwriting evening at Butterfly Ship HQ this past week. The music was a rare privilege - watching our talented performers flesh out the themes and concepts of several of our original pieces was a feast for the ears if nothing else. The gathering was also the first time one of our costumes was modeled - no doubt our costume designer Emily R. will be looking forward to making four more just like it (and everything else our cast will need to wear!) Planning for the Kickstarter campaign is gathering steam as well. Being that we're not only committed to putting on the best show possible, but also to paying our cast and crew with something more tangible than "exposure" (artists need to eat too!), we're looking forward to getting our show out there and showing you something worth paying for :) One last note - for those of you in and around Petaluma, be sure to drop by Seared Restaurant on July 24th (that would be next Thursday!) between 7-10PM for the Maker's Showcase featuring The Butterfly Ship! We'll be kicking off our Kickstarter Campaign that night, so don't be late! Best wishes (and rivers with fishes), The Narrator

WINGS Publication reflects on the human experience through language. It is the literary expression of our performance group "The Butterfly Ship". Here you will find articles by members of our crew and guest writers, on themes which contribute to the 'building' of the vessel with which we will sail to the sun.... Archives
